A standard celebratory dish from the Dolpo area of Nepal, that includes silverweed (Potentilla) roots and eight different auspicious elements.

Serves: 6-8
Substances
- Silverweed (Potentilla) roots, cleaned and chopped
- 200g barley
- 200g wheat berries
- 200g rice
- 200g aged cheese, crumbled
- 500g recent bamboo shoots, sliced
- 200g dried peas
- 500g mutton, lower into bite-sized items
- Salt to style
- Water for cooking
Technique
- Rinse all grains (barley, wheat, and rice) till water runs clear.
- In a big pot, mix:
- Barley
- Wheat berries
- Cleaned silverweed roots
- Water to cowl by 5cm
Carry to a boil, then cut back warmth and simmer for half-hour, then add:
- Rice
- Peas
- Bamboo shoots
- Mutton
- Salt
Proceed cooking till:
- Meat is tender
- Grains are absolutely cooked
- Roots are smooth
- Most liquid has been absorbed
